I built layout-lib to close the gap between the Figma mock-up and the code. Grid extensions live outside the project, every developer reconfigures them by hand, and they are no use on a real phone. Here the grid is a versioned file in the repo, shared by the whole team.

The overlay switches on its own between mobile, tablet and desktop based on the real viewport width, can be tuned with the mouse, then exported as TypeScript, CSS variables or a Tailwind config.

Two technical choices: the overlay is mounted in a shadow root and never touches the app’s DOM, and it only runs in development through a dynamic import, so the production bundle contains not a single line of the library.
